In Love With Our Photographer

by
Remember back when I was telling you about how we picked the Riviera Maya? No? Well lets do a quick recap.

In order for us to really see what weddings in different locations looked like we became stalkers of photographers blogs all over the world. During one of our routine stalking adventures I came across a company called Del Sol Photography located in the Riviera Maya. I fell in love with not only their photos but the photographers themselves. Whoa, what?? (Its not as creepy as it sounds, I promise.)

Let me introduce you to Matt and Sol, the owners of Del Sol, the way I was introduced to them:

Yep, thats right, I started following their blog just after they got engaged. So I got to read about their Mayan wedding and all the planning they did. How could you not love these two? *grin*

So what drew me to Matt and Sols photos?  It was their ability to tell a story. To make you feel like you're there just by looking through the pictures.  Its hard for me to describe in words what I mean by 'tell a story' so here are a few examples.

(Click the photos and it will take you to the full slide show.)

See what I mean?  Even though you weren't there, you felt like you were just by looking through the photos.

Since photography was our #1 priority, I was kind of worried about trying to book a vendor from another country. There was no need to worry though. When I contacted them about photographing our wedding I discovered an entire company of the sweetest, most down to earth people you will ever talk to. And the bookings manager, Melissa, was FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC! She answered all my questions from pricing to giving advice on locations we were looking at to even suggesting a time line for getting the best lighting for the pictures! Seriously I wish I could get this kind of customer service from all our wedding vendors.  I can't tell you how happy I am we booked them.

Did you have any concerns when booking a vendor?  Did talking with the vendor help alleviate some of the worry?
