Journey Of A Thousand Miles: Out Of Town Bags

by
How about a quick photo sneak peak of whats ahead in this post?

We were lucky enough to arrive a couple days a head of our guests so I had time to assemble the OOT bags in the evening.  First thing I did of course was lay a few of them out so I could take a picture. I mean isn't that what every blogger bride does when assembling something for the wedding. *grin*

Each of the bags were hand sewn with love by Mama-In-Law Meerkat. She even created braided handles from the matching material. Not a single one of the bags had the same color or pattern so each guest had their very own unique bag.

Now onto the goodies within. When thinking of things we wanted to go into the bag I wanted practical and useful items.

You have already seen the custom first aid kits and water bottles with each guests name. To that we also added flipflop luggage tag, an underwater camera and a mini photo album with photo share information attached. And to keep it all tied in with our travel theme I created a schedule of events that resembled a passport.

Inside was a schedule for the wedding and some fun information about us Meerkats.

As I filled each bag I lined them up so we could deliver them to our guests as they arrived.

So what was the overall response you ask? Our guests went nuts over these! They carried the bags everywhere including to our wedding. While every single one of our guests told us they never excepted "gifts" they were all very excited to get them. I loved handing them to each guest and the seeing the smile that spread over their faces.

I can't tell you how thankful I am that Mama-In-Law Meerkat was in charge of these. I never could have made something so amazing. Did you have a project for the wedding that you are so happy you let someone else be in charge of?
